R. Kellys Former Wife Talks About Surviving Abuse In Emotional Message
The former wife of the star, Andrea Kelly accused him of abuse on the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries. Now, she took to social media to share a lengthy message about what she went through during their marriage and her healing process.
As you may know, the six part docuseries includes interviews with women claiming they were abused by the singer as well as some from witnesses saying they’d seen Kelly acting inappropriately with his at the time underage protégé Aaliyah.
All these allegations have been denied by the R&B star.
Yesterday, his former wife posted on her Instagram account the screenshot of a Psychology Today article listing all of the side-effects of domestic abuse.
Andrea also slammed those who are supposedly trying to ‘expose her.’
In the caption, she wrote: ‘Thank God for his grace, guidance, love AND deliverance. I celebrate the woman I am TODAY! Though some wanna ‘expose’ the pain-filled, scared, abused woman I was…..STOP! I AM No longer afraid.’
‘No longer willing to silence my PAIN AND TO SUGARCOAT THE ABUSE THAT I ENDURED because of how my abuser and his LEGAL TEAM were THREATENING to come against me if I ‘did not choose wisely. NO MORE! Do not speak about MY GROWTH OR JOURNEY especially if you have NEVER BEEN ABUSED.’
As for those who have experienced or are going through abuse at the moment, Andrea reminded them they are not alone.
