Billy Oceans, a British singer born in Trinidad, has been married to Judy Bayne since 1978.

Billy Ocean was born on January 21, 1950, as Leslie Sebastian Charles and was raised in Trinidad until the age of eleven. 

He was raised in a modest family in an uninteresting area. In quest for better opportunities, his family decided to relocate to Romford, London.

Ocean was encouraged to pursue a career in the music industry by his parents, who are also singers. 

He said, “My father was a calypso singer. We created our own amusement since there wasn’t much to do there. My father was a Baptist, so attending church was a big part of it.”

They were not used to seeing automobiles and buildings because they lived on the edge of a cocoa plantation and saw nothing but open space every day.

Ocean’s oldest sister took care of the children while her parents were at work.

Turning into artist

Ocean had a love of music early on. As he completed chores, he would sing along with his mother, which ultimately brought him to the stage. 

The singer of the song “There’ll Be Sad Songs” changed his stage name in the 1970s to honor Ocean Estate, where he lived.
